Johnny Depp as Sweeney Todd
As we all know, between all the many roles Johnny Depp has played, he has done a miraculous job. We can tell his upcoming movie, "Sweeney Todd" directed by renowned Tim Burton, is going to be a major block bluster attraction visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site. Johnny Depp grasps the role of vengeful barber with such raw thought. You can clearly see why he got the part of Sweeney Todd.To see more about Sweeney Todd visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace In this movie, he is a successful, wealthy, fortunate man with a loving family. When he gets wrongly accused and is imprisoned, he vows revenge against those who have unjustly wronged him. Similar to this role is when he is cast as Captain Jack Sparrow in "Pirates Of The Caribbean" where Jack (Johnny) gets revenge. The difference between the roles is very small. In Sweeney Todd, he is wrongly accused and imprisoned taking his whole life away; while in Pirates Of The Caribbean, Jack's ship is taken from him because his crew mutinied against him. In Sweeney Todd, he decides to kill his wrongdoers as their punishment for taking his entire life away. The Captain plays little jokes and picks the opportune moment to lie or tell the truth to get what he wants back, which is his precious ship; The Black Pearl. Although Sweeney loses a lot more than Sparrow, they both take revenge and feel justified in the end. Although its hard to see if Sweeney actually gets his family back, they both get what they lost. Sweeney gets his dignity, pride and revenge while Sparrow gets his ship, crew, and title as Captain of The Black Pearl.
I think overall, Sweeney is the better role. He loses more than a piece of property; Sweeney loses his life. His daughter, his wife, his job, his social standings with the locals. He loses it all, then regains it in the end. Sweeney is a stronger character, he faces more battles. He comes back as a totally different person when he is released from imprisonment. He returns as a vengeful barber hell-bent on getting what was taken from him.
